Awei Pila is located 2 hours (50 nautical miles) from the shorelines of Kawthaung. The restorative Kyun Pila private island is surrounded by virgin forests with views out to the open Andaman Sea.
From water sports, cultural journeys and trekking through the jungle – there’s something for everyone. We invite you to relax, reconnect, and rejuvenate with Awei Pila. Forget the world outside and unravel the mysteries of an untouched island.
Our season is from October through May but room bookings are accepted anytime. We recommend booking in advance, as most guests book their stay months ahead.
Awei Pila offers 2 types of accommodation which are both uniquely designed tented villas – the Beach Front Villa and Seaview Villa.
- The Beach Front Villa gives an amazing view of the Andaman Sea. Indulge in your private tented villa or kick back and relax on your private terrace. Rates from USD 953 per night (all inclusive).
- The Seaview Villa opens up to the spectacular sights of the Mergui forest. Unplug in the quiet tranquillity of your private terrace and forest garden. Rates from USD 853 (all inclusive).
At the moment, we do not offer family size rooms. Our tented villas are for double occupancy and customers can choose between a King Bed or Twin Beds.

All meals are available at the resort; breakfast, lunch and dinner. Halal, Vegan, Vegetarian, or kosher cuisines are also available on request. Enjoy seafood specialities with a Burmese touch, and international cuisine. We also offer Burmese cooking class and dining under the stars.
Upon landing at Kawthaung Airport, you will be picked up by our staff and begin your journey with Awei Pila.
If you wish, explore the beautiful town of Kawthaung via a quick tour around the region. Then, hop on a 2-hour speedboat ride and be whisked away to the magical island of Kyun Pila.
The flight from Yangon to Kawthaung usually takes around 3 hours. The boat trip takes 2 hours from the City of Kawthaung to Awei Pila Resort.
An island filled to the brim with history, beauty and nature, Kyun Pila private island is a treasure trove waiting to be discovered.

We have a clinic and a nurse on the island dedicated to guests and staff. A flotilla of 2 speed boats are at our disposal in Pila for any emergency cases. We have CCTV and 3 security guards working 24-hours, 7 days.
As our season runs through October through May, the weather is sunny with a constant temperature of 28 to 32 degrees Celsius, and some expected showers. Can be very hot in April and May.
We have a dedicated team that will assist you through activities such as trekking in the forest, visiting the Moken Village, kayaking, diving and all water and land experiences.
We have one pool bar.
The Awei Pila team has been trained by Diversey company, which specializes in providing cleaning training and protocols, and are able to take care of all post-Covid 19 issues including sanitation, practicing and encouraging social distancing, and wearing masks and gloves. The housekeeping team has been trained especially to carry out deep cleaning every day in all guests rooms and public areas. The safety of our guests and team members remains a priority.
